This tour will bring you through some of the most fascinating landmarks of Trapani Province. You will start by visiting Segesta. Once capital of the mysterious Elymians civilization suddenly disappeared after two centuries of domination in which they left unique traces of their presence. Next you will visit the marvelous stone town of Erice, nowadays "Unesco World Heritage Site". Don't miss its deliciuos pastry. The day will end at Trapani Salt Pans Natural Reserve. A spectacular example of Industrial Archeology, where local companies still continue the old production. These wide wetlands have always been a nesting and feeding site for a variety of migrating birds like: Pink Flamingos, Storks, Herons, and Cormorants.

THE ROUTE OF WINE

ARCHEOLOGICAL WALK

Selinunte-Castelvetrano-Cusa Quarries.

For archeology lovers this is a unique opportunity to visit and experience some of the most famous Greek sites in the all Mediterranean Area. Selinunte represents the biggest city of "Magna Grecia" (Wider Greece). If Syracuse was the capital of it, Selinunte was the biggest and the most important port city of the western side of the island. You will be able to visit the Cusa Quarries. The Cusa quarries represent the only area of extraction dated to that historical period. You will admire entire blocks of curved stone, suddenly left when they seemed to be ready to be transported. Selinunte was built by stones extracted from Cusa quarries. The day will end with a walk through Castelvetrano historical center, town especially known for some of the finest extra virgin olive oil.

THE GATTOPARDO'S LAND

A Long drive through some of the most historical and traditional rural areas of Sicily. House of one of the most famous Sicilian Nobles like the "Prince Tomasi di Lampedusa", author of the most famous Sicilian novel of all times: "The Leopard". Published posthumously in 1958. You will be able to visit the The Donnafugata Palace, where the movie (inspired by the novel) was filmed. You will continue your tour by visiting the ruins of the towns destroyed by the 1968 earthquake. And of course, the biggest example of Land Art in the world: Il Cretto di Burri. Created at "Old Gibellina" by the famous sculptor Alberto Burri.

Your facilitator will prepare for you (on request) a typical Sicilian meal. You will have the chance to enjoy together with his friendly company a picnic along the Sicilian landscape.
